Volta Studio

Volta or Flick?

Volta Studio is for directors and teams who want the script to drive the shots, the schedule and a whole series, with scenes blocked in 3D on their own locations, a story memory that cites its sources and a studio console for a team's budget. Flick is the better pick if you want a very wide model shelf, with voice and lip-sync on its timeline.

Why teams choose Volta.

Where the script has to do the work.

  • Shots from the script: Volta anchors every shot to the lines it covers; Flick's docs say its script does not build shots by itself yet.
  • Breakdown: cast, locations, props and every department tagged from the screenplay, by hand or with AI.
  • 3D blocking: both have it. Volta's Stage builds on your own location as a 3D set, and the guide you record goes to the video model with the shot.
  • Series: episodes, seasons, the Vertical Microdrama format and a season planner, which we did not find in Flick.
  • Story memory: every copilot reads the whole project and names the passages it used.
  • A production office: a stripboard schedule and call sheets built from the breakdown.
  • Refunds: a failed generation is refunded; we did not find failed-run refunds on Flick's pages.

Pricing.

Flick's plans as its home page shows them. Credits per plan are left out because its own pages disagree about them. Volta's side is live.

Flick: prices and plans, with sources

WhatFlickSource
Casual plan$5 a month.[1]
Standard plan$20 a month.[1]
Pro plan$45 a month, shown as reduced from $60.[1]
Studio planFrom $120 a month.[1]
Yearly billingSaves 20%.[1]
Top-up creditsExpire after 90 days.[11]

Flick's pages disagree about how many credits the Studio plan carries, so credits per plan are left out.

Volta's own prices are computed live on this page from its model catalogue and plans table, so they are not repeated here.

Rights and training.

Level on this one. Flick's docs say it does not use your content to train or improve its models, and Volta's Terms rule out training on your projects, uploads or generations.

Flick's terms, in its own words

  • We do not use your content to train or improve our models (docs, your content: flick.art/docs/your-content)

When Flick is the better choice.

Real advantages, from its own docs.

  • A very wide model shelf, with a reference pack per character that carries across models.
  • A timeline, voice, lip-sync and a sound effects library built in; Volta's Cut timeline is still switched on per account.

Which to choose.

If you want the script to generate the breakdown, the shot list, the schedule and a season of episodes, with one budget for a team, Volta does that end to end. If you want the widest shelf of models, with voice and lip-sync on one timeline, Flick fits.

Common questions

Can Flick import a Final Draft script?
Yes. Flick reads .fountain, .fdx, .pdf, .docx and .txt files into a script view with screenplay line types. Volta reads the same formats, plus Fade In and Highland, and exports Final Draft, Fountain and PDF.
Does Flick turn a script into a shot list?
Its docs say the script does not build shots by itself yet; it turns a concept into a shot-by-shot storyboard instead. In Volta every shot is anchored to the lines of script it covers and moves with them through rewrites.
Which is better for a team, Volta or Flick?
Flick pools credits in a workspace with Owner, Member and Guest roles. Volta's Studio plan has paid seats, six roles, a monthly limit per member, a shared wallet and an audit log, with Enterprise contracts for companies.
